Legend of Korra to Continue in the Comics

I’ve been an Avatar fan since the very beginning. This show is my childhood and the source of many happy memories with my mom. Avatar is the first series that I actually watched from beginning to end. When Book 3 of the original series premiered the Nickelodeon narrator kept saying “Series Finale”. I thought it was some type of typo because I have never heard of such a thing, however, when the last episode premiered and the words “The End” appeared on the screen I knew that it was over. I felt my life end and all my happiness went with it. I was sad to see one of my favorite cartoons of all time end, but I also felt honored to have been a part of it and I promised myself that no matter how old I get I will always be an Avatard. I was eleven when I made that promise and eight years later I still uphold that promise.
When I was sixteen Legend of Korra premiered. I felt my life come back as I sat and watched the sassy, hotheaded and rebellious Korra start her journey as the Avatar. In many ways I related to Korra. She was a hard core tomb boy, like myself, and she didn’t take crap from no one. I admire her bravery and the courage. Her actions landed her the tile of my favorite Avatar.
A lot of people didn’t like Korra. They preferred the original series. That was completely understandable because nothing can never out do the original. But Korra and Aang will always have a special place in my heart, in my childhood and in my young adult life.
With that being said I am proud to announce that the Legend of Korra is going to be continued in the comics. Yes! You guys heard me. If you were at the Avatar panel at comic con then you already heard the news straight from Bryan and Mike, however, Mike seems to be the only one out of the two working on the project. I guess because Bryan has his own project he’s working on called “Threadworlds”.

It has said that the comics will be published by Dark Horse and will pick up from where the series left off. They will also shine more light on Korra and Asami’s relationship. This is as much information that was giving and hopefully they will release more in the future. Until then us Avatards can just be happy that Avatar hasn’t completely ended yet.
